The Five Fingers was a Lebanese rock and pop band active from 1965 to 1976, consisting of five Armenian members. They were pioneers in Lebanon, creating a unique genre known as "Continental" music. While many bands followed the trend of playing rock and pop songs primarily in English, The Five Fingers distinguished themselves by exploring a wide range of genres, including pop, Brazilian, Latin, Armenian, and British music. Initially, they gained recognition for performing French melodic love songs. Their most notable hit, "Armenia," served as a protest song against the Armenian Genocide and called for freedom from the Soviet Union. This track was recorded under the major label Philips, earning the band the Philips Silver Disc Award. In 1969, they released their first single in French, "Un Jour D'Été," which became popular on the radio.
