**Bio of The Four Aces** The Four Aces originated from South Philadelphia, where Al Alberts, a powerful tenor vocalist and pianist, had previously worked with big bands before World War II. During the war, he formed a friendship with Dave Mahoney from Chester, a talented tenor saxophonist who also sang. They vowed to reunite after the war to pursue a career in music. In 1956, upon returning to Chester, Alberts and Mahoney collaborated with record owner Marty Caruso, who helped them recruit two additional members: Rosario "Sod" Vaccaro, a baritone singer and trumpeter, and Louis Silvestri, a drummer with a bass voice. Silvestri was associated with a roller-skating club called 'The Aces', which inspired the group's name. They rehearsed various old standards, contemporary pop tunes, and original material for performances at local clubs and college dances. Al Alberts departed from The Four Aces in 1958 and was succeeded by Freddie Diodatti. Over time, all original members left, leading to a new lineup featuring Tony Alesi, Joe Giglio, and Harry Heisler. In 1975, Alesi's declining health prompted his departure, and he was replaced by Danny Colingo. Following a legal dispute between the original and new members, the court permitted the founding members to tour as "The Original Four Aces Featuring Al Alberts." They continued performing until retiring the original act
