The Fourth Way was an American jazz quartet formed in 1967, consisting of Eddie Marshall, Mike Nock, Michael White, and Ron McClure. Active primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area through the early 1970s, they were known for their contributions to electric jazz fusion, akin to their contemporaries Weather Report. The group utilized innovative instrumentation, featuring Nock's Fender Rhodes piano with various effects pedals, White's electrically amplified violin, and McClure's electric bass. Their second album, titled "The Fourth Way," was released in 1969 and showcased Ron McClure on acoustic bass, amplified acoustic bass, and electric bass; Mike Nock on piano and electric piano; Michael White on acoustic and amplified acoustic violin; and Eddie Marshall on drums. Most of the compositions were by Mike Nock, with one track composed by Michael White. The album was produced by John Palladino and engineered by Joe Polito and Jay Ranellucci.
