**Bio: The French Fries** In 1968, following the success of "Dance to the Music," The French Fries, featuring the brother on guitar, sister on vocals, and another member on bass, recorded a French version of the song titled "Danse a La Musique." This version diverged significantly from the American original by emphasizing the guitar over the horn section, reducing the lyrics, and altering the remaining ones. Sly's background vocals were sped up, giving them a lively, animated quality. The B-side of the 1968 single, "Small Fries," features a catchy pop melody with Sly using a chipmunk voice to narrate a story about three teenage pigs named Freddie, Larry, and Sylvester, who each respond differently to letters from "Uncle Samuel" regarding military service.
