The Future Sound Of London is a British duo that formed in the 1980s in Manchester. Known for their influential discography, they draw from a wide range of influences, including acid house, hardcore techno, ambient, krautrock, and '60s psychedelica. Previously, they achieved a UK Top 10 hit as Dougans. Under the name FSOL, they gained major crossover success with their early work, which included a dancefloor-friendly debut album. Feeling they were moving in the wrong direction, they went off the radar after a mix in mid-1997. Following a four-year hiatus marked by rumors of insanity and drug addiction—stemming from mercury poisoning and personal soul-searching—the duo released a concept remix album in 2001, followed by a full-length album and additional material under the name Amorphous Androgynous. In March 2007, they became independent and launched FSOLDigital.com, releasing numerous unreleased tracks under the "Archive" series, along with old and new material from their other aliases. One of
