The Greater Experience was a band that operated from 1969 to 1975 in Lynchburg, VA, USA. The group featured Jerry Mitchell on lead vocals, with Roger Scruggs on guitar, Chip Wood playing alto saxophone, flute, and rhythm guitar, Johnny Dodson on Hammond organ, Ed Burnette on trumpet, Robert Tunkel on tenor saxophone, trumpet, and flute, Chuck Wall on drums, and Russ Hovda on bass guitar.
