The Grodes were a garage rock group hailing from Tucson, Arizona, U.S. They are best known for their proto-punk single "Let's Talk About Girls!", which became a significant hit and was covered by various artists in 1979. The band's leader recounted an incident in his biography where a radio host mistakenly introduced their single as being from a French group called The Tongues. This misnaming caused frustration among the band members, who had already established recognition with four singles as The Grodes. They humorously vowed to confront the host for the mix-up, as they felt it was unfair to change their name without their consent. This incident led to the one and only release attributed to The Tongues, as people began referring to them by that name.
