The Heart Throbs were formed in Reading, UK, in the mid-80s, consisting of members Rose Carlotti, Rachael Carlotti, Alan Borgia, Stephen Ward, Mark Side, Noko, Steve Monti, Colleen Browne, and Steve "Bes" Wick. After releasing a series of singles on various indie labels, they signed to a label that released their debut album, "Cleopatra Grip," in 1990. The band heavily toured in support of the album, but the strain led to the departure of Mark Side and Rachael Carlotti in late 1990 during a tense US tour. Noko and Steve Monti joined as replacements and contributed to their second album, "Jubilee Twist," released in 1992. Their third and final album, "Vertical Smile," was released in 1993, during which Noko and Monti were replaced by Steve 'Bes' Wick and Colleen Browne. The Heart Throbs played their last UK show on December 8, 1993, before disbanding.
