The Heliocentrics is a collective with a core lineup consisting of Malcolm Catto, Jake Ferguson, and Jack Yglesias. Inspired by Sun Ra, they explore an alternative galaxy where Hip-Hop, Funk, Jazz, Psychedelic, Electronic, Avant-garde, and Ethnic music converge around a central theme known as "The One." As of 2018, the group features Malcolm Catto on drums, Jake Ferguson on bass, Jack Yglesias on organ and percussion, Barbora Patkova on vocals, Raven Bush on violin and effects, Dan Smith on guitar and Moog, and Jason Yarde on saxophone.
