The Hesitations were a soul group from Cleveland, Ohio, formed in 1965. The original lineup included brothers George and Charles Scott, Fred Deal, Robert Sheppard, Arthur Blakely, Phillip Dorroh, and Leonard Veal. They achieved notable success in 1967 and 1968, with their most significant hit being a gospel-infused rendition of the title track from the movie "Born Free." Tragically, the group faced a setback when George "King" Scott was accidentally shot and killed in February 1968, leading to their disbandment. However, The Hesitations regrouped in 2006 with new members and have since resumed performing and recording.
