The High Spirits was a garage and later psychedelic rock band from Minneapolis, MN, active in the mid to late 1960s. They officially disbanded in 1969 but reunited for a few shows in 1984, 1998, and 1999. On May 26, 2006, they were inducted into the Minnesota Rock / Country Hall of Fame. The band members included Doug Ahrens on drums, who played from the start until 1967 and then again from 1968 to the end. Other members contributed on rhythm guitar, vocals, keyboards, and backing vocals, with Tom Hopp joining as lead/rhythm guitarist and later bassist in 1967. Former members included Brad Burgeson, who played drums from 1967 to 1968 and contributed as lead guitarist and bassist during that period. The band was managed by Rick London from the start until 1966, and another manager took over from 1966 until the end of their active years.
