The Hippy Boys were a prolific Jamaican Rocksteady and early Reggae backing band and studio band formed in 1967. Their name varied depending on the studio where they were recording. They worked with various producers, including Randy's Productions and others. The group initially consisted of members playing bass, drums, and guitar, with notable early members including "Seanie" on drums and "Welby Stewart" on guitar. They gained more fame in 1969 with the arrival of Aston "Family Man" Barrett on bass, Carlton "Carlie" Barrett on drums, Alva "Reggie" Lewis on rhythm guitar, and Lloyd Charmers on organ, piano, percussion, and vocals. The group was sometimes augmented by Ronnie "Bop" Williams on lead guitar.
