The Hollywood Brats were formed in 1971 in London, United Kingdom, and disbanded in 1974. The band consisted of members Andrew Matheson (vocals), Casino Steel (keyboards), Lou Sparks (drums), Eunan Brady (guitar), and 'Wayne Manor' (bass). Initially, they performed 50's style cover versions as a rock 'n' roll band with various lineups centered around Matheson, Steel, and Roger Cooper (bass). In 1972, they briefly adopted the name The Queen before changing it to The Hollywood Brats upon discovering another band with the same name. The core lineup included Matheson, Steel, Sparks, and Brady, but they faced challenges in maintaining a stable bass player after Roger Cooper left in 1973. That same year, they secured a manager and were signed to his production company, which financed the recording of their debut LP. Unfortunately, after failing to attract interest from record companies, the band was dropped and subsequently split up. Despite this, Matheson and Casino managed to retain the master tapes, and the LP was eventually released in Norway under the name "Andrew Matheson & The Brats," although it sold very few copies.
