The House Of Love is an English indie pop and alternative rock band that was founded in 1986 in London. The original lineup consisted of principal songwriter Guy Chadwick (vocals, guitar), Terry Bickers (guitar), Andrea Heukamp (guitar, vocals), Chris Groothuizen (bass), and Pete Evans (drums). Heukamp left the band in 1987 and was not replaced, leading the group to record their debut album as a quartet. Bickers departed in late 1989 and was succeeded by Simon Walker (guitar), who left in early 1992, resulting in Simon Mawby (guitar) joining the band. Mawby quit before the end of that year, and Chadwick, Groothuizen, and Evans continued as a trio, recording "Audience With The Mind" in early 1993, although the band disbanded before the album's release. In 2005, The House Of Love reformed with Chadwick, Bickers, Evans, and Matt Jury (bass). They recorded two additional studio albums and toured sporadically. In 2021, Chadwick disbanded the 2005 lineup and brought in three new members to tour the US and record a new album, which was released in 2022.
