**Bio of The Hustlers** The Hustlers originated as "The SenSations" in the summer of 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio. The original members included Jeff Gould on bass guitar, Jim Hughes on guitar, Rick Biagiola on drums, and Joe Giacomin, also known as Joey Gee, on guitar. The band thrived for the next two years, performing in various venues, from clubs like Torchlight and Orbit (Utopia) to Shibley’s Sahara, and even opening for the Beach Boys at the Cleveland Arena. In the spring of 1966, the group expanded by adding Ray Cefaratti on saxophone and Gary Heil on trumpet. During this time, Rick Biagiola left to join the Outsiders, becoming their drummer for subsequent hits. Ronnie Herbert replaced him; he was previously the drummer for Frank Samson and the Whalers. Joe Giacomin also departed as he was drafted and served in Vietnam. The Hustlers continued to perform for a few more years and recorded a 45 of original songs in 1967, likely in Michigan. The record was released under the name "The Hustlers" to avoid confusion with other acts called The Sensations, including a Michigan soul group that recorded for Cleveland's Way Out label.
