The Imaginations were a Chicago soul vocal quartet known for their smooth harmonies and engaging performances. They emerged from the remnants of another Star-Vue act after a legal dispute led to the firing of most of the original members following the success of "Love Jones." Arthur Scales, Jesse Harvey, and Nathaniel Pringle were brought in as replacements. After the breakup of "Brighter Side," Johnson recruited Tyrone Stewart as the lead singer and rebranded the group as The Imaginations. Their first album featured the song "Ballad Of Matheia," which was later sampled in "The Forest" by Ghostface on his album.
