Inner Circle is a Jamaican group formed in Kingston in 1968, originally consisting of brothers on guitar and bass, along with various backing players known as the Inner Circle. The group included future members who contributed to its success, such as those on keyboards and lead singer. Inner Circle gained international acclaim with the pro-weed and anti-cocaine anthem "Mary Mary" and the album "Everything Is Great," released in late 1979 or early 1980. Following the untimely death of a legendary member in March 1980, the group lost its contract and experienced a commercial drought for over a decade. They made a significant comeback in 1993 with the summer hit "Sweat (A La La La La Long)" and the title track for the Hollywood movie "Bad Boys," featuring their then lead singer.
