The Soul Investigators, originally known as Calypso King and The Soul Investigators, are a house band formed in 1997 in Matinkylä, Espoo, Finland, just outside Helsinki. They released their first singles in 1998 on their own label, followed by their debut album in 2001 on a New York label. In 2000, members of the band founded another project. The Soul Investigators have accompanied several acclaimed neo-soul artists and continue to release instrumental recordings under their own name.
