The J.B.'s were the iconic band of James Brown during his time with People, Starday King, and Polydor. The lineup of the band changed frequently over the years and through various recording sessions, but key members included Bobby Byrd on organ and vocals, St. Clair Pinckney, also known as 'Pink,' on alto saxophone, Fred Wesley on trombone and horns, Maceo Parker on saxophone, Fred Thomas on bass, and John 'Jabo' Starks on drums. The band also featured various guitarists, primarily Herlon Martin and Jimmy Nolen.
