The Jimi Hendrix Experience, often referred to as The Experience, was a band formed in London, England, in October 1966. Comprised of guitarist/singer/songwriter Jimi Hendrix, bassist/backing vocalist/songwriter Noel Redding, and drummer/backing vocalist Mitch Mitchell, the group was active for just under three years. During their brief career, they released three successful studio albums and achieved four top 10 singles. The band was formed by ex-Animals bassist Chas Chandler.
