The Kings are a Canadian band known as a 'one-hit wonder' for their breakout single, "This Beat Goes On/Switchin' To Glide." Originally formed as WhistleKing in the 1970s, the band hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, and Oakville, Ontario. Their first two albums were released under Elektra Records before they transitioned to Capitol (Canada). While they experienced some minor chart success with later releases, none matched the popularity of their initial hit. The founding members of The Kings include David Diamond (lead vocals, bass), Sonny Keyes (keyboards, vocals), Max Styles (drums), Mister Zero (guitar), and Peter Nunn (keyboards).
