The La De Da's, originally formed as The Mergers in the early sixties in Te Atatu, West Auckland, New Zealand, gained recognition for their raucous RnB performances. They were signed to a label but licensed to another for their New Zealand release. Their debut album is considered a garage rock classic and is quite rare. In the late sixties, the band moved to Australia, where they became one of the country's leading live acts until their split in 1975, with only Kevin Borich remaining from the original lineup.
