The Legend is a British music journalist born in 1961. He began his career at the New Musical Express (NME) in 1983. After being dismissed from the NME in 1988, he joined its rival publication, Melody Maker. To differentiate himself from his previous work, he adopted a new pseudonym, as "The Legend!" was too closely associated with the NME.
