The Live Five were a notable band from Salem, Oregon, known for their influential role in shaping the sound of the Pacific Northwest during the 1960s. They collaborated with other prominent Northwest bands of the era, including The Sonics, The Wailers, and Paul Revere & The Raiders, contributing to the garage rock scene. The band recorded several records and gained popularity, leading to a contract with Jerden Records. In addition to being a local favorite at dancehalls, The Live Five had the opportunity to open for many national acts, including The Rolling Stones, Sonny & Cher, The Everly Brothers, and The Beach Boys, throughout their brief career from 1965 to 1968. The lineup consisted of Craig Martel on drums, Jerry 'JT' Meier on guitar and vocals, Bill O'Brian on vocals, Joe Smith on bass, and Stan Steiner on keyboards.
