The Loft was originally formed under a different name but changed it due to Alan McGee's club of the same name. The band consisted of Pete Astor on vocals and guitars, Dave Morgan on drums, Bill Prince on bass guitar, and Andy Strickland on guitars. They split up on June 24, 1985, after performing at the Hammersmith Palais. Following the breakup, Astor and Morgan went on to form another project, while Prince and Strickland also pursued new musical endeavors.
