The Loose Enz were a band from York, PA, active in the second half of the 1960s. They were formed as a quartet, with an original line-up that likely included Eric Chester (guitar), Alan Jackson (bass), Richard "Rick" Kauffman, and Casey (vocals). The band recorded their first single, featuring "A World Outside" and "Better Man Than I," which was released on April 16, 1967, under the DB Records label. Before producing their second and final single, "The Black Door" and "Easy Rider," released on December 12, 1968, by Virtue Stiles Production, there were personnel changes in the band. Rick Barshinger (Richard Norman Barshinger), who played keyboards, joined the group and was the author of both compositions for the second single.
