**Bio: The Magnificent Men** The Magnificent Men were formed in 1964, making history as the only white act to headline New York's legendary Apollo Theatre and other major venues on the rhythm and blues "chitlin circuit." This unique group emerged from the combination of two integrated bands: the Del-Chords from York, Pennsylvania, and the Endells from Harrisburg. The Del-Chords, a seven-member band featuring singers Dave Bupp and Adrian "Buddy" King, often competed against the nine-member Endells, led by drummer Bob Angelucci. By the end of 1964, Bupp, King, Angelucci, and some members of the Endells united to form the all-white Magnificent Men, initially known as the Magnificent Seven. This transition was influenced by the desire for a new collective sound, the reluctance of some club owners to book mixed bands, and the decision of some members to pursue other interests outside of full-time music. The band consisted of Bob Angelucci, Dave Bupp, Terry Crousore, Buddy King, Tom Pane, Bill Richter, and Jim Seville. Tom Hoover served as the original keyboardist but left the group after their first album and has recently passed away.
