The Majority was a British pop group from Hull that emerged in the mid-1960s. They initially released eight singles on the Decca label but struggled to gain traction on the U.K. charts. After being dropped by Decca in 1968, the band relocated to Europe in hopes of achieving greater success. They signed with the Dutch label Pink Elephant and rebranded themselves as Majority One, releasing several singles and a self-titled LP. During this time, they recorded notable tracks such as the energetic "Get Back Home" and a laid-back cover of The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night." In 1971, their single "Because I Love" became a hit in Italy and Brazil, reaching the Top 20 in Holland. Later that year, the group released a few songs under the name Rocky Cabbage but disbanded shortly thereafter.
