The Master's Apprentices, often referred to as The Masters by fans, were an Australian pop/rock band formed in 1965 in Adelaide, South Australia. The band featured a singer and a songwriter/rhythm guitarist, and their early recordings blended the gritty R&B and rock sounds of British groups with minor-key melodies. In late 1967, Bower left the group, which faced instability, undergoing eight personnel changes between 1966 and 1968. The band relocated to England in the early 1970s, where they gained some cult success with progressive rock albums before disbanding in 1972.
