The McCrarys, also known as McCrary, formed in 1972 and included Howard McCrary, a songwriter, along with his sisters Linda and Charity, and brothers Sam and Alfred. Initially starting as a gospel group with their album "Sunshine Day," they later transitioned to a broader musical style with the release of their album "Emerge." After taking a break to pursue solo endeavors, Howard McCrary returned to the music scene in 1978. The group released several albums, including "Loving is Living," which featured liner notes by Stevie Wonder and collaborations with notable musicians such as David Foster, Chuck Rainey, and George Bohannon. Howard McCrary co-wrote the song “In Time” for Earth, Wind & Fire and the band toured with prominent acts like The O’Jays, Gladys Knight, and The Jacksons. "Loving Is Living" was released on the Portrait label and was supported by a harmonica performance on the track "You."
