The Metronomes, a legendary minimal synth band, originated in Melbourne in 1979. The initial lineup featured rock journalist and synth player Al Webb, bass player Andrew Picouleau (known for his work with Secret Police and Sacred Cowboys), and synth pioneer Ash Wednesday. In 2010, they released a compilation titled "The Ballad Of The Metronomes," which includes re-releases of their LPs "Multiple Choice" from 1980 and "Regular Guys" from 1985, along with two singles: "Saturday Night / Sunday Morning" and "A Circuit Like Me."
