A Modest Proposal (AMP) was a New wave, electronic, alternative pop band active from 1983 to 1993. The group consisted of members Bert van de Grift, Ton Coolen, Ludwig Adriaansen, and Nicolet Theunissen. They released their LP, "A Modest Proposal" (RBD 0100), in 1986. After Ludwig left the band, the remaining members produced a CD titled "Contrast" (ANWO/BAR 999) in 1991. AMP performed alongside artists such as Steven Brown, Neppy Noya, and Marco Bakker. In 1992, Odilon Marcenaro, part of the Amsterdam duo Sitting Targets, joined the band, contributing electronic wind instruments. Despite being well-known in Utrecht, The Netherlands, AMP never achieved a significant breakthrough.
