The Montclairs were an R&B vocal group hailing from East St. Louis, Illinois, USA. They were active from the late 1960s to the early 1970s and took their name from a local brand of cigarettes. The group consisted of members Phil Perry, David Frye, George McLellan, Kevin Sanlin, and Clifford Williams. In 1974, Clifford Williams was drafted into the U.S. military, after which the group continued as a quartet. It is important to note that they should not be confused with an earlier soul group from Cleveland, Ohio, that shared a similar name.
