The Murder City Devils are a punk rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1996. The original lineup consisted of vocalist Spencer Moody, guitarist Dann Gallucci, bassist Derek Fudesco, drummer Coady Willis, and Nate Manny, who played guitar and bass. Keyboardist Leslie Hardy later joined the group. Unlike many punk acts of the '90s that leaned towards punk/pop and alternative rock, the Murder City Devils maintained a strong control over their riffs, showcasing clean yet raw compositions that connect them to the punk style. The band broke up in 2001 after an explosive farewell performance in their hometown on Halloween night. They reunited for four shows: two in Seattle in 2006 and two in Austin in 2007. In late 2009, the original lineup reformed for a series of West Coast shows, which extended into East Coast performances in 2010.
