The Myrchents, originally known as the Nomads, were a band from Mechanicsburg, Ohio, active from 1965 to 1968. The original lineup featured Jimmy Carmean and Jack Brooks on guitars, Keith Dickess on bass, and Steve Baumgartner on drums. They initially played three-chord frat rock music similar to that of the Kingsmen. After some discussions, the group decided to evolve their sound to align more with the Byrds and Rolling Stones, leading to the addition of Bill Edwards on lead vocals and Rick Callender on drums.
