The Natural Four is an American soul group hailing from Oakland, California, formed in the mid-'60s. They initially signed with a local label and featured lead singer Chris James, along with members Allen Richardson, John January, and Al Bowden. In 1971, they released a one-off single titled "Give a Little Love" for Chess Records, after which Chris James completely revamped the group. By 1972, Richardson, January, and Bowden were replaced by Darryl Cannady, Steve Striplin, and Delmos Whitney. The group subsequently signed with a new label.
