The Necks are an Australian experimental jazz trio formed in 1987, consisting of Chris Abrahams on piano and Hammond organ, Tony Buck on drums, percussion, and electric guitar, and Lloyd Swanton on bass guitar and double bass. Since 2001, they have been collaborating with a studio engineer who has mixed and engineered over 13 albums for the band.
