The Newcomer is a musical group that gained popularity in the early 1970s with their hit song "Pin The Tail On The Donkey." Hailing from Memphis, they contributed significantly to background work for various artists associated with Stax Records. The group also performed as a live act, opening for notable label mates such as Al Green, The Bar-Kays, and The Emotions. Following the decline of Stax, they expanded their lineup by adding a fourth member, Vince Williams, and subsequently changed their name.
