The Novas were a US-American teen garage punk band from Minnesota, formed around 1964. The original lineup that recorded their first single, "The Crusher / Take 7," included Bob Nolan (guitar, vocals), Jim Ronald (guitar, vocals), Jim Owens (bass), John Eckley (lead guitar), and 13-year-old Jeff Raymond (drums). After a Midwest tour in January 1965, Eckley and Ronald left the band and were replaced by Ross Ingram on guitar, with Ted Berquist later replacing Owens. In 1965, The Novas released their second and final single, "Novas Coaster / On The Road Again," but were banned by their booking agency. In 1999, Norton Records reissued their first single with two unreleased bonus tracks.
