The O’Jays are a renowned musical group originally formed in Canton, Ohio, in 1958 by gospel duo Eddie Levert and Walter Williams. The lineup also included William Powell, Bobby Massey, and Bill Isles. They made their recording debut in 1961 with the single "Miracles." The group caught the attention of Cleveland DJ Eddie O'Jay, who frequently played their music and offered career advice. In appreciation, they renamed themselves The O'Jays. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 as performers.
