The Olivia Tremor Control was formed in 1992 in Athens, GA, United States, and disbanded in 1999, only to reform in 2009. They released the single "The Game You Play Is In Your Head" in 2011 and performed at various shows until 2012, when singer, songwriter, and guitarist Bill Doss passed away in July. The band was previously known as Cranberry Lifecycle and Synthetic Flying Machine and is primarily recognized for their involvement in the Elephant 6 collective, blending experimental pop with artsy psychedelic rock. The members of the band included Will Cullen Hart (vocals, guitar), Bill Doss (vocals, guitar, tapes), John Fernandes (bass, violin, clarinet, 1995-99), Pete Erchick (keyboards, 1996-99), Eric Harris (drums, theremin, guitar, 1995-99), and Jeff Mangum (drums, 1992-95).
