The Orient Express is a band originally from Europe that later moved to the United States. The group was born on the Left Bank and features a member who was decorated by the Shah of Iran for his drumming and sought to incorporate Eastern rhythms into Western music while in Iran. They met a Belgian pilot and guitarist in Paris while traveling around Europe. The three members eventually headed to America, initially settling in New York's East Village before relocating to California, where they recorded their album.
