The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart is an indie pop band from New York City, founded in 2007 by Kip Berman, Peggy Wang, Alex Naidus, and later joined by Kurt Feldman. The band is known for its distinctive sound and has undergone various lineup changes throughout its existence. On November 4, 2019, band founder Kip Berman announced his decision to end his involvement with The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart to focus on a new project called The Natvral. Reflecting on his journey, Berman shared that his life had changed significantly since the band's inception, particularly after the release of their last record, “The Echo of Pleasure,” and the birth of his daughter. He expressed that the inspiration that fueled their music had shifted, prompting him to seek new avenues for expression. Berman has been working on a new record and plans to share it in the future.
