The Paradons were an American doo wop group hailing from Bakersfield, California. They began their musical journey by performing at local school dances and clubs. Within a few months, they secured a recording session with Milestone Records, leading to the recording of eight songs. Their debut release, "Diamonds and Pearls" b/w "I Want Love," became a hit, peaking at #27 on the Black Singles chart and #18 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1960. The group gained further exposure by appearing on American Bandstand and performing at the Apollo Theatre. However, they broke up shortly after due to monetary disputes, having been together for less than a year. Despite their split, Marathon continued to release singles from their initial recording sessions, including "Bells Ring," "Take All of Me," and "I Had a Dream," though these did not chart.
