The Paul Horn Quintet was a Grammy Award-nominated jazz ensemble formed in 1958, known for their modal style jazz influenced by various elements until the mid-1960s. They later transitioned to a more easy listening sound for two albums. The group reformed after Paul Horn returned from travels in India and remained active until the mid-1970s. They received a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Album, Small Ensemble for their 1965 recording "Cycle." Their final release was the double live LP "A Special Edition," which came out as a Paul Horn solo album in 1974.
