The Peppermint Rainbow was an American sunshine pop group hailing from Baltimore, Maryland. They originally formed in 1967 under the name New York Times and performed at local gigs throughout the mid-Atlantic states before rebranding as the Peppermint Rainbow in 1968. The group was signed to Decca Records after being discovered by a producer who saw them perform live and sang with them on-stage during a medley of tunes. Their debut single, "Walking in Different Circles" b/w "Pink Lemonade," did not achieve chart success. However, their second single, "Will You Be Staying After Sunday," became a hit, reaching #32 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1969 and selling over one million copies, earning a gold disc. Their third release, "Don't Wake Me Up in the Morning, Michael," peaked at #54 the same year. The band's album, "Will You Be Staying After Sunday," narrowly missed the Top 100, reaching #106 on the album charts. The Peppermint Rainbow disbanded in 1970. The group consisted of Bonnie Lamdin and Pat Lamdin on vocals, Doug Lewis on guitar, Anton Corey on percussion, and Skip Harris (deceased) on bass.
