The Playgue is a garage band hailing from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Originally known as the Bandits, the group underwent several line-up changes before being discovered by the Benedetto brothers, who took on the role of their managers and rebranded the band as the Playgue. With this new direction, they shifted from the popular invasion sounds of the time to a style more influenced by R&B, incorporating covers of Rolling Stones songs into their repertoire. The members of the band included Lewis Moyse, Charles Henry Scherburne, Don Myrick, Wayne Chapman, and Danny Tillotson.
