The Popes are an Irish folk rock group formed in 1992. Initially recording and performing on their own, they gained recognition with their unique sound. After the death of founding member in 2006, the band re-emerged with a new lineup led by another founding member. However, they have been inactive since he suffered a head injury in 2013.
