The Prisoners were a British band formed in the early 1980s in Chatham, Kent, known for their garage, mod, and R'n'B-inspired sound. Initially a three-piece, they saw the addition of James Taylor in early 1982 after he attended one of their shows in late 1981. The band signed to a subsidiary label in the latter half of 1985 but disbanded in 1986 due to the parent label's bankruptcy. Their last performance before a series of reunions in the 1990s took place on September 18, 1986. In late 2022, they celebrated the 40th Anniversary of 'A Taste Of Pink!' with four shows in Rochester, another town in Medway. The line-up consisted of Graham Day (guitar, vocals), James Taylor (Hammond organ), Alan Crockford (bass), and Johnny Symons (drums). After the band's breakup, James Taylor and Alan Crockford went on to form another project.
