The Prodigy is a British electronic group formed in 1990, known for their innovative blend of rave and breakbeat music that evolved into a more mainstream sound incorporating rock elements. Their debut release was the "What Evil Lurks" EP in 1991, and they gained significant acclaim with their third album, "The Fat Of The Land," released in 1997. The original lineup included Liam Howlett as the head of the group, responsible for keyboards, synthesizers, programming, and more. He was joined by Leeroy Thornhill, who contributed as an MC and vocalist, and dancers Keith Flint and Sharky. Maxim was later recruited to MC at their first gig in February 1991. Sharky left the group shortly after their record deal with XL in late 1990, while Keith Flint remained until his tragic passing on March 4, 2019. Over the years, The Prodigy has seen various member changes, with notable former members including Leeroy, who provided lead vocals until 2019, and another dancer who contributed live keyboards and synthesizers until 2000. The band has maintained a significant presence in the electronic music scene since their inception.
